Located in the small shopping area next to the Dunn Loring Metro stop, Japomen is a welcome addition to the neighborhood, bringing fast-casual Japanese cuisine to the area. This newest location, opened in October, marks their fourth Northern Virginia spot, joining others in Woodbridge, Chantilly, and Potomac Falls.
Japomen originally started in Pike Kitchen, a food hall in Rockville, MD, and has grown into a standout destination for Japanese dishes. Despite the restaurant’s compact size, the menu is impressively extensive, offering everything from ramen and rice bowls to udon, teriyaki entrees, and a full sushi lineup.
The pride Japomen takes in their ramen is evident, with specialty options like vegan bowls, wagyu, and halal chicken and lamb. The sushi menu is equally impressive, rivaling traditional sushi restaurants with its wide array of rolls, specialty rolls, and nigiri. It’s hard to believe this is fast casual, where you order at a kiosk, yet the quality and variety shine through.
The dining experience is relaxed and seamless. You place your order at the kiosk, and your food is delivered to the table, making it a perfect spot for a quick meal without sacrificing quality. With tons of flavor, an abundance of options, and great service, Japomen stands out as a fantastic addition to the Dunn Loring area. Whether you’re craving sushi, ramen, or anything in between, this spot is sure to impress.
